Dallas Union StationEverybody was in a hurry so I got what I could. Next time I am in Dallas, I hope to get better pictures of this depot. It has been fixed up & is pretty neat. It has a combo of Amtrak, Heavy Rail (TRE) & electric light rail (DART). I'll post some more later.....this is pretty time oriented stuff. -Dave

CAPREOL, ONT. CANADAThis is a big time train division point for the CN R.R. "The Canadian" stops here for crew changes & supplies. It is in the middle of nowhere on the other side of the great lakes between Toronto & Winnepeg.

Nice pictures. Next time I am in Chicago & have a full day or so, I'd like to ride "The South Shore". BTW.... I passed near your town on the way from Pittsburgh. It was like 4 A.M. I'm sure that if I was a wake I would have been impressed with......... the darkness. -Dave

South Bend is about thirty miles to the East. It is also the end of the line for the South Shore RR.
We live in the epicenter of Golden Domer Country. Many of the people who own homes in the beach communities along Lake Michigan are "South Side" Irish. The names on our neighbors' mailboxes could have been taken at random from a Dublin phone book. I always make it clear that my ancestors came from Ireland. I do not mention, however, that they came from "Ulster Ireland."
