Like Carly Simon says,"These are the Good Old Days". Well, at least they're gonna be. People like to talk about the way things were and look at pictures from the past. But have you ever thought about the future? Today is what our children and grandchildren are going to refer to as the "Good Old days". Go ahead, go out and take pictures now of everyday scenes, scenes we take for granted. Someday, maybe 40 or 50 years from now, people will look at today's pictures like we look at yesterday's pictures. All the old pictures that we enjoy now were taken at a time when they were probably just everyday ordinary scenes. Let's give our children and grandchildren some of today to enjoy tomorrow. Remember, they will not appreciate it until they are older and can look back on what it was like at the beginning of the new century.

Great thought, Butch. And w/ all the teckie stuff of today, even more pix can be preserved. Old film rots over time doesn't it?

I once worked with a guy at the City of Dallas. He was at one time a Plumbing Insp But still had friends in the Bldg. Insp Dept. They would give him the heads up on any demolision permits issued & he would make sure that he had pictures of the building to come down. If not, he would get some pics. Imagine his collection! That is the kind of town that doesn't think twice about tearing down anything. If you are into history AND photography. I recommend doing what Butch is doing now. As you can see by his photos, it is never to early or late to start. The area (4 to 5 sq. miles or more), where my wife was born & raised has been torn down from single family houses in a run down area to five story high dollar condos with all of the apropriate upscale shops & restaurants. Heck they eve have refurbished street trollys there now! -Dave
