Apologies for the genealogy inquiry, but I have hit dead ends on ancestry.com, familysearch.org, and the various LaSalle County genealogy resources. I also recognize there are folks in this forum that have a historical understanding of Streator families.
My great-grandfather was Ben "Bennie" King, step-son of Ben and Annie King. Ben King was Cornish miner and union representative for LaSalle County. Bennie King was known in Streator for starting/hosting the annual hobby show and at one point was its postmaster. The blended families lived on North Everett almost their entire lives.
Bennie King was reportedly the biological son of John Nichols and Esther Davis. They were supposedly involved in the circus. John Nichols' brother George was reportedly a contortionist. Anyone have any insight into the circus in the area?
Any information about any of these people would be super...I realize it is a long shot.
